The Blessing Jar

I was recently at a birthday party and one of the birthday presents was a beautiful blessing jar. This really got me thinking of how I need to implement this in my family.

What is a Blessing Jar?

A blessing jar is a specific jar that you write down your blessings or things that you are thankful to have. You can use a basic mason jar or buy a specific blessing jar. You could also have everyone write something each day on a little slip of paper that they are thankful or feel is a blessing.

Why Would You Want a Blessing Jar?

Many people would think that a blessing jar would just be an extra thing to sit on the counter, take up room, and collect dust. But it can be used for so much more and serve a greater purpose. The gift recipient of the blessing jar was asking how to use it. I was explaining that you can write your blessings down. But, the key to using your blessing jar is to read the blessings on the days that you are discouraged or in seasons that it feels you are weathering a storm.

“Remember the wonders He has performed,
His miracles, and the rulings He has given”

Psalm 105:5

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change”.

James 1:17

Here is the blessing jar that was given as a gift at the birthday party and is sold on Amazon (this is an affiliate link and I will earn a small commission from your purchase).

Here is another blessing jar that is cute as well. You can always use a box or a mason jar. Also, here is a precious book to explain the blessing jar to children or grandchildren.

As always I would love to hear from you. Do you have a way to write down or keep track of your blessings? Keeping a gratitude journal can be so helpful as well. I will talk more about this soon! As always be encouraged. Even if you feel that you do not have anything to be thankful for, we have all been blessed beyond measure.
